Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a method of religious formation for children developed by Sofia Cavalletti in accord with Montessori principles of education. Children meet in one of three atria (Level I, II or III) for an extended period (the norm is about two hours) for prayer, conversation, and work.

CGS employs Scripture, the Church calendar, the sacramental life, along with handmade materials to form children in the spiritual life. It is not a "curriculum" for merely cognitive learning but rather a kind of spiritual direction.
